there's so many things i want to say about this. ah i just feel like blurting it out without thinkin of my grammar or structure or whatsoever. it's like my mind is goin to explode with excitement and i just feel the need to write all the details down.
so, it was on tuesday. at school i was like 'ah gila males banget, bnyk temen2 gue yg ga ikut, tapi yaudahlah 25ribu ini, worth it lah' ahirnya gue brngkt sama bebi stacy chia. i met lotsa people there, jhoan rio manda, priska nael melisa yohana most of the abbalove people, saphira randy and the jc prj's, and sofi. okay, enough for the less important stuff.
hm, the concert was waaaaaaaaayy too awesome to describe! the 3 main people there are charlie hall, chris tomlin, and louie giglio. silly, but my respond towards chris tomlin was like 'God, get me a husband like him!' lols. okay, unimportant - cut.
so, what makes this concert different from the others was how the concept was made. so this 'passion' made a world tour aimed to reach out for youth around the world and make a youth movement. they visited 17 biggest cities in the world, collecting about 7000 youth in each cities, and unite them in God, making them an impact in their city.
how the thing works? they got sponsors from America, then with that money they made the concert first in kyiv *i dont even know where it is! :p then from kyiv, the youth were asked if they want to bless the youth in the next country as how they were blessed, by giving offerings so that the same event could be conducted in the next country. also, the amazing thing is that, this passion wordl tour really link all the youth around the world. so after the youths in a country were blessed, they will in turn pray for the event on the next country, making a prayer chain.
so this louie guy will say, like what he said in Jakarta, 'you may be amazed, but this event could be done because 4000 youth in KL had offer their money and they had prayed for you guys so that you could be blessed like how they were blessed!' isnt that amazing? i mean, we differ by culture, language, we dont even know each other, yet we pray for each other! and before the concert ended, louie said that on the backside of the ticket which is a handband, is written 'passion johannesburg' *none of us noticed!* why so? because their next stop is johannesburg, we were requested to pray for them and keep on wearing the band til their concert which will be on this saturday. i really dont mind keeping the band, whenever i see it, my heart burns with passion for my city, my school, and my generation. it's kinda like keeping a 'WWJD' handband to continually remind you to do things like how Jesus would do it. and you wouldnt believe, the passion blog stated that our offerings for johannesburg was about US$ 23,500!
at first i thought that this 'passion' isnt as popular as hillsong or planetshakers, and i wasnt that excited to attend, but demas persuaded me, and so i thought, well okay, nothing to lose. i mean, i always enjoy going on such events where i can really worship God and let Him restore me. but it turned out that the concert was a blast! a huuuugeeee blast!
another thing that i remember is when we had sang the opening songs, and the concert was about to begin, louie asked us to group in 3 and prayed. the rule: one will pray, the other two agree. he asked us to do this because 'when 2 or 3 people pray in the name of the Lord, He will be present'. the first prayer was to 'ask for nothing'. we were to just give thanks to Him, worship and glorify Him, and no asking or requesting. the second prayer is to invite His presence. this whole thing is about Him, about reaching youth to shout His fame, and wouldnt it'll be useless if we dont invite the 'guest of honor'? so we asked God to come and fill the whole Istora with His presence. when we all prayed, i delighted in the sound of prayers crowding the room, hearing people shouting and crying out for Jesus. i wonder how much more He was?
the songs weren't that popular among most of the people there, however, everyone sang wholeheartedly to give Him the best praise and worship they could give. the best ones were, 'God of this city', we sang it twice if i'm not mistaken, and we just cried out to God for Him to save Jakarta. the verse said 'greater things have yet to come, and greater things are still to be done in this city' we all sang that song with faith. next is 'amazing grace'. louie preached about grace that night *i'll give you the details in the next post* and we were all like so amazed with this thing called grace and even a song as common as amazing grace were like so touchy that night. i couldnt help but cry. really, where would i be if not for His grace? next on, i love this song titled 'mighty to save' i never noticed that the lyrics were so powerful! my favorite? it was when chris tomlin sang how great is our God in Indonesian. he sang it like this 'besaaaaarlah tcccuhaaaaannn' it was kinda funny cause 'bule' cant really say the letter 'T' :p lols
in the concert i sat in the very front. so we were given chairs to sit on, but all the time except for the preach we stand. i wasnt really satisfied with my position, so i just went to the most front and sat on the floor. so yeah, i could see chris' face like sooo clear :p haha. gosh, nia, stop.
outside the hall, there were people selling passion tshirts and CDs. the tshirt is sooo cool! i bought one for myself. and now i regret i didnt buy one for my brother and for demas.
later, before the concert ended *it was a long concert anyway. from 7pm til 11.30pm!* louie said that every city that he went to were recorded for his podcast and the event will as well be written in the blog, so check it out 268blog.com! and oh, for the podcast, he made us promise to keep the ticket band til saturday while praying for johannesburg, then we were recorded to be shown to the youth in johannesburg. after that, they were going to Capetown. i remember the 3 western girl from Capetown, sarah, tegan, lauren, whom i befriended with during my trip in India, i really pray for them so that they could somehow go to that concert and get their lives changed and touched by God.
well, i think that's all on the important stuff that night. i'll post the amazing sermon later. lovelove :) Godbless!
