grand houses and heavenly piggybank
As I entered the house, I gasped with amazement. The concept is minimalist. Mostly grey in color, it has a large wood gate, a small pond, and a long block road to the back of the house, and in the back of the house there’s a tall wall which at first I thought was the boundary of the house. Looking at the garage, I saw 7, I repeat, seven! Expensive cars. Curious, I chat with the satpam.
Me: Pak, rumah nya gede amat sih! Gila ini mobil ada 7 ga kebanyakan ya *gue ngomong dengan polosnya*
Satpam: wah, ini belom smuanya dek, aslinya mobilnya ada 50.
Geez, I was like ‘are you serious?’ dan tuh pak satpam tu ngomongnya nyantai banget, as if it’s something usual. Crazy, 50 cars, can you imagine!?
Mom: banyak banget pa, usaha apa sih? Punya showroom ya?
Satpam: enggak, bu. Ini emang punya pribadi mobilnya. Sisanya ditaro di rumah yang lain. Usaha property, punya kafe, spa treatment, hotel, blah blah blahs…
Okay, I tried to digest all the information I had received. So, BIG house, 50 cars, another house!
Me: whoa. Keren amat sih pak. Ini gede amat ya rumahnya *gosh, gw kampung banget, masih aja ngliatin tu rumah dengan mupengnya sambil ngomong sama pak satpam*
Satpam: yang ini mah kecil dek, yang dicipinang lebih gede
OH EM JIIII. Yang ini kecil? Yeah right. Yang di Cipinang segede apa!
Then the 3 of us (mom, Levin, and I) walked to the back, and, shockingly, the wall which I thought was the boundary wasn’t! It leads to another room and ends with a swimming pool. In front, it’s the view of the green grass for golfing. Enough ‘wow’ing, I walked back and found out that there’s another swimming pool upstairs!
Suddenly God remind me of my house in heaven. Jesus came back to heaven to prepare a place for all of us. I imagine houses built so grand, roads covered with gold, and oh you name it, everything’s there. I remember one funny song which used to be my favorite. The verse said: come and go with me, to my father’s house, come and go with me, to my father’s house. It’s a big big house, with lots and lots of room. A big big table, with lots and lots of food. A big big yard, where you can play football. A big big house, it’s my father’s house.
1 Corinthians 2:9 reads; “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him” well, okay, I have seen this BIG house, and I started to wonder, how much bigger, better, the place God is preparing for me? I just can’t imagine. The bible also said that we should concentrate on what is ahead of us, we ought to press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenward in Christ Jesus (Philippians3:14).
Many people sow for worldly things, things that don’t last forever, things like popularity, outward beauty, material possessions and much other unimportant stuff. If that’s what you sow, what you’ll reap will as well be temporary. You can have a house so big, a car so expensive, anything you want – but ask yourselves this question, is it worth in the end? Instead, we should sow more for the kingdom of God. Remember, our wealth is in heaven! Start investing more into our heavenly piggy-bank :p

one in a million - a story for a great mom
It somehow appeals to be true. She willingly sacrifices her time to drive me wherever I need to go. Her act of love is reflected in everything she does, and the results are evident. Our relationship started and mostly built inside that car. She was more than just merely driving me – she was giving her lessons through every bit of our conversations.
As the car moved, I gently observed my surroundings – houses built in such a grand scale, trees swinging lightly following the rhythm of the wind, the flickering light, and people went about their business. My mind was busied with the very same thought I had recently. I pondered so many questions and my head felt as if it was going to explode.
“Mom?” I gently asked. “How do you think it will be like to live in Singapore?” That was the most frequently asked question in my life nowadays.
“I mean, I’m perfectly aware that things will be hard, and somehow I’m going to get used to it and finally settle down. I know that after some time I’m going to have a lot of best friends, new teachers, mentors, another communities, and even new brothers and sisters. But I could never have a new mom.” I was so carried out with what I said and unconsciously tears were formed in my eyes and ready to fall down.
She was such a great person to me. She had it all; a mom, a best friend, a sister, a mentor, a teacher, a shopping-partner, someone to laugh with – all in all in one being. She has always been my role model, and I sometimes wonder, how could someone be as strong as her? I wonder how God would look at her and smile so widely seeing a woman so wholeheartedly living for Him?
I once went into my dad’s office and accidentally found my mom’s daily devotion with blank spaces to write on as a journal. As I scrolled through the pages, I saw how my mom really puts her best in everything, I learnt a lot through her daily life. I saw her prayers –which were mostly about us, her children. I read how excited she was when one of us began to listen to what she said and started to change gradually. I read her disappointments but in the end she always wrote, “I know You have a plan in my life Daddy, and I’m going to trust in You, and believe You will use this for the good of those who loves You”.
In her thank-you list, I was there. She wrote “Nia’s Singapore Scholarship” and the rest was still empty. Oh how my heart was so filled with such inexplicable feelings! I was so overwhelmed to know that a child could bring such happiness for her mother.
“Maybe it’s because we are so close that it’s hard for us to be separated. Some kids wanted to get away from their parents quickly because they don’t build a good relationship. Luckily, it doesn’t happen to us” She said softly.
I always loved her voice. When she speaks, she speaks words of truth. What comes out of her is always pure and tenderhearted. In her I see the image of God. She communicates God’s love in her daily life.
Inside the car, our conversations continued, “I know I will only have you as a ‘child’ for another 4 months or even less, and I want to savor each moment. Wherever you need to go, I’ll take you there. Whatever you want, I’ll do. I know things will begin to settle when you move to Singapore and it will soon be your home. You will come to Indonesia less and less and this is the only time I have left for you” that’s what I remember her saying.
I’m surely going to miss her hug, her gentle reminder, her encouragement, her understanding – basically everything. The truth saddened me even more, yet life must go on and I suddenly reminded of one song – you’ll never walk alone. One of the verse said, “You may feel you’re far from home, but home is where He is, and He’ll be there down every road. You will never walk alone.”
Mitch Albom said in his book, Tuesday’s with Morrie, “Have you ever really had a teacher? One who saw you as a raw but precious thing, a jewel that, with wisdom, could be polished to a proud shine? If you are lucky enough to find your way to such teacher, you will always find your way back…”
I guess I have found such teacher, someone who was there with me all along, even with the very first breath I took, even way before, when I was still in her womb, she carried me everywhere she went, she educated me with bible teachings, and songs of worship.
From the moment I entered the world, she held my hands and walked with me ‘til I become who I am today. And she is more than just a teacher, she is greater than what Mitch had found in Morrie – she is my mom, she is one in a million…

Worth seeing: my Japan video :p
Friends, this is my video which i made after i went back from Japan. it was my second global exchange programme. bener2 anugrah deh bisa pergi ke Jepang, maybe some time later i could tell y'all the details about the trip. slama disana gw bawa handycam, pas pulang gw edit2 jadi cuma 18menit. gak 'cuma' jg sih ya, lumayan panjang, haha. but it's worth seeing, i promise you! ada crita waktu homestay sama kluarga disana, crita2 waktu di sekolah jepang, tradisi2 sama jokes2 jepang, terus ke Disneyland sama Universal Studio, ke tempat2 wisata lain. banyak hal yang lucu2 juga, ada lagi bagian gw ngajarin masak okonomiyaki, makanan tradisional jepang, haha. seru deh. enjoy watching! :)
comments comments pleaseeeeee! haha
cerita hari ini
seneng deh udah ada blog, mudah2an terus2an di update. niat awalnya sih mau buat ntar di singapore supaya temen2 di indo bisa ga lost contact, so that they'll know how am i doing there. seneng udah ada yang komenin, hahaa, more comments dooongg.
well, i think i should just write about my day. hari ini full istirahat! tepar banget kmrn seharian di gading, i wonder, yang pada main secapek apa ya? hehe. sbenernya jordy ngajak main paintball, tp ga terlalu deket sm orang2nya, so i decided not to go, mengingat kondisi badan juga. demas jg ngajak k taman mini for his Japan thingy. pengen nih sebenernya, kayaknya bakal seru video2in, apalagi tadi demas crita td pake ke ancol sgala, duduk2 dipantai, dia bawa gitar pula! aduh pas banget. tapi ga jadi ikut juga, lebih pengen mendem di rumah nih. sorry i dissapoint you guys :(
agak sore, tadinya mau ketemu kyla, tapi rapatnya ga slese2, jadinya naik sepeda aja sama lira lisa. udah lama gak main bareng bertiga. rencananya naik sepeda ke jalan raya sampe bintaro plaza, tapi lira lisa lamaaa banget goes sepedanya *haha peace!* :p jadinya sampe YPM aja terus pulang lagi. lira ketinggalan mulu saking lamanya, kalo nyebrang dia ktinggalan di sebrang sendiri panik2 gitu. udah gitu hampir ditabrak bus gede pula, hahaha.
malem ini ada cool (community of love) di rumah tius. brangkat bareng sama bena *yeah he's a new member* sampe disana ada tius, karin, david, sama lebay. dateng2 udah bercandaan aja kita, ketawa2, seneng deh. tadi ketemu foto aib tius! hahaha. tius mau rebut tapi ga gw bolehin. asik dapet foto aib hyubed lagi! wait til i told kyla about this, yeah we're the APAs! in case you're wondering, APA itu grup yang terbentuk hasil berudik kita seperti biasa. kepanjangan nya agen pencari aib. hahaha. gw udah punya foto kecilnya joger sama dave, sama tius deh skrg! karna gw baik, fotonya gak gw post disini, hahaha *you should thank me ius! :p
not so long after, semPO sama joger dateng. then Kak Tina and Kak Mieke. semPO itu nama aslinya sammy. tapi di jc ada 2 sammy, jadinya karna dia tembem2 gitu dipanggil sempau which is short for semi bakpau. nah kita abis nonton kungfu panda, inget2 sempao yang mirip pandanya yang bernama po, ahirnya di gantilah nama sempau jadi semPO, hehe.
yang ngagetin, waktu mau nambahin sharing, si bena disuruh nambahin, and he sheepishly said something, which was quite short, but exactly hit the point! we were talking about Matthew7:24-27. He said, kalo kita deket dan bergaul sama Tuhan, dasar kita akan kuat kaya rumah yang di bangun di batu dan waktu badai dan masalah datang, kita gak akan goyah. tapi kalo hubungan kita sama Tuhan kaya pasir, kita ga akan kuat ngehadapin masalah dlm hidup. wow, that was considered wise, especially when it comes from an eleven-year-old boy! hehehe.
dirumah lagi santai2, dapet sms dari milla sama bebi, katanya aji kluar! geeze, rada2 ga percaya. masa sih, harusnya patudu ato giselle aja, sedih deh, haha. sayangnya lagi, gw gak liat penampilan trahir aji! AH. gak pake lama, gw langsung sms orang2, aji kluar! hiks.
so that was almost all for today. of course, gw melewatkan beberapa detail which i think is private, hahaha. comments dong temantemankuuu.
God bless you guys abundantly! :)

Futsal JC - The Story
Making the long story short, at about 6.30am we were already on the way to Gading Futsal Station. Altogether there were 19 of us, if I’m not mistaken – the Hyubeds (Joger, Tius, Alrey, SemPO, Ruben, Semku, Rio, Hito, Dave, Jojo), The APAs (Kyla, Bebi, and I), Sherry, her mom, and her lil’ bro, Cindy, Stevano, and Kak Mieke. The boys and girls were separated into 2 cars. When we reached Gading, Cs came and showed us the way to the place.
When the event was about to begin, suddenly I was called to play the keyboard, so I sat alone, thankfully Ria came, so then we chat about some stuff which I don’t think y’all need to know! ;) *wink* Sayang, Ira sama Jen blom dateng, dari dulu mau kumpul berempat ga jadi2 mulu, hiks. Jen had to attend college, and as for Ira, she was still on the way. Sadly, Ria had to go to college and went back at 4pm.
It was fun to be on such boisterous event. We all met so many people! From PRJ, Soto, Intercon, Tanjung Duren, IKM, Depok, Cinere, Gading, basically everywhere around Jabodetabek. The guys wholeheartedly played to win esia phone and the girls busied themselves cheering for their mates. Some cheerleaders brought their pompoms, banner, and drums. There were 3 fields colored blue, green, and red. Bintaro sat on the corner near the toilet, next to the green-colored field.
On that event, Bebi got along pretty well with one of PRJ girls named Sarah. They were bored doing nothing and went somewhere just the two of them, I bet they were having fun while they were away. Kyla and I decided not to go and just enjoy the moment there.
When it was Bintaro’s turned to play, the rest of us cheered for the team. I distributed my BINTARO cards and Kyla took out her ‘proudly made i-heart-bintaro headband’ made out of her dad’s kaos kutang :p we passed the elimination round quite easily. Tapi sayang kita kalah di perdelapan final, padahal gw sama kyla sampe naik2 kursi, haha. But what I am proud of is that, we all could manage our loss quite well. After all, it’s not about winning and losing, it’s more on the experience, the get-together, and just have fun.
The event was estimated to end at 6pm, but at about 4pm, we were all gathered to have the closing service. Then we took pictures, the girls facing the guys on the opposite corner. We had a great fun laughing and taking pictures, and just that, Ria got back from college. The APAs took some pictures as well which I’ll show ya later on the next post.
Moving on, outside the green field, kita ngobrol rame2, ada Nia, Bebi, Kyla, Ria, Ira, Sarah, Rachel. Not so long after, PRJ pada mau pulang. We were so sad to say goodbye. Hope to see y’all soon, guys!
Jam5an kurang, acaranya udah slese, but Kak Angga said we could use the field ‘til 6pm soalnya udah di book sampe jam sgitu. Everyone else went home ‘til in the end it’s just Bintaro, Jugem, KaSur and Kak Xiao Hong. Cowo2 masih betah aja maen bola, cewe2nya duduk2 di pinggir lapangan maen damdamsuit sama ampar2 pisang hiphop style *udik mode on! :p
Before we went home, we took pictures again, this time with the boys. We chat and had a good laugh terus pulang dengan bus hyubed :p pokoknya seru deh. It was a lot more fun than what I could tell. I’m eagerly lookin’ forward to such event again. What a day!

Seneng banget nih, I’ll finally see my friends again. I miss the sleepover mates – Ria, Ira, Jenni, and the other girls. Besok mau crita2 sama ria sampe puas! Ah I miss the sleepover time. Such a night! Visit www.triptotransformation.blogspot.com to see how fun was the slumber party! (yeah, I was lazy to post all the crazy pictures we took) :p Pokoknya besok pengen ktemu JCers from Gading, Prj, Soto, aduh banyak deh. I’m also very eager to meet devine! Gosh, it’s been more than a year since we know each other and became good friends, tapi sampe skrg mau ketemu ga jadi2 mulu ya vine. Hehehe.
Well well, I don’t actually care about the winning or losing thing though. I’m more interested in meeting my friends and just have fun. Cant waiiiiitt! Kalo niat, I might post the story of the day some time later, haha. Lovelove :)

dedicated to my lovelies
i know nothing lasts forever
and things will eventually come to an end
as it is said 'the only constant thing in the world is change'
these lovely friendships, sisterhoods, everything i hold most dear
might as well be loosen apart by distance
these thoughts bubbling in my mind
creating such an inexplicable feelings
i simply just don't want to let go of you
however, saying goodbye is part of life journey
it is one of the many steps to maturity
whatever might happens, i am just thankful for all these years
that you've been a great person to me
someone so special, loving and caring
we may not be together forever
but the memories, i will always cherish
you have been part of my life
and filled my days with joy
i wont be able to blurt everything out
i wont be able to express how i feel
but i want to let you know
you are the treasure of my heart
and I'll keep our memories close to my heart

a diamond in the rough
Well, diamond in the rough. That’s my current title. That phrase caught my attention from the very first time I read it. That’s what we actually are. We have rough edges, we all do, and that’s okay. We are not a finished product anyway. God sees our potential, He sees what’s inside you. And when we let God shapes and polish us, we will become the person God wants us to be – a diamond, a priceless treasure!
So, yeah, this blog kinda shows my journey down the road, simply showing my life as an open book, and the process in which God is shaping me to be the woman after His own heart :)
Hope you have fun reading it out. And, oh, drop your comment as well please! xoxo
